Letthis be said at my departure.
Mylife has been a happy one enriched by wonderful parents, loyalbrothers, and four children, all of whom have been a source ofpleasure and pride. Eight grandchildren have also added to thepleasures of my life. Lastly, my wife Pat has made my life a mosthappy one.
Lifehas not short changed me nor passed me by in any way, and I departknowing that I have had more than my share of life's blessings.
Tobe sure, I have had my share of disappointments and failures, butthey have only served to provide challenges that have helped todevelop my character. Success in some small measure I have had andhas made my stay here rewarding.
Letno tears be shed at this moment and no one be inconvenienced by anyceremony or ritual of any kind. I came into this world unannouncedand it would be nice to leave it in the same manner. "The worldbelongs to the living generation, for the dead are dead." The worldis now yours.
Thereis an after life only in the sense that the good a man does livesafter him and is remembered. In this regard I hope I have left theworld a better place for my having been here.
